Luke Chapter 1-9
Luke was a physician, and through his gospel, he paints Jesus as a compassionate and warm Savior. He wasn't one of the original disciples, so it is believed that he came to salvation through the ministry of Paul. This book is the only one that includes the details of Jesus' birth and the events that surrounded it, including the angel's announcement, the story of conception and the birth of John the Baptist. He points out in the very beginning that he has done a thorough investigation of Jesus' story and had written his account based on his careful findings. So now we are jumping in to do some investigating of our own. May we also find the compassionate Savior that looked out over the city of Jerusalem and wept over it just like Luke.
